Friends weren't kidding when they said epic Tron: Legacy soundtrack was Epic. Huh. Good stuff. Of course, it is Daft Punk, and I've been inclined to like their stuff since I heard The Saint (the Val Kilmer version, obviously) soundtrack.

The cyberpunk-techno goes quite well with Abingdon Boys School (J-Rock), who do the OP (opening theme song) for my new favourite anime: Darker Than Black. In fact, I will go so far as to rec DtB as anime for people who don't like anime. If you like Fringe, or X-Files, DtB has much the same feel, except animated -- but animated without a lot of the off-putting tropes.

I could go on at some length (this is the highly-contained squee version), but worth noting is that: DtB has kick-ass women who don't just stand-around and then die, and the series writers seem to have had actual conversations with scientists, or at least done enough research to make it look like their science has passed through a brain and is not just hand-wavium.

Darker Than Black season 1 is available on Netflix, 26 eps (25 for the story arc, plus a "bonus" ep that is hilarious for fandom reasons).
